“How much do Google Ads cost?” is the first question almost every business owner asks us, and the honest answer is: it depends on what you’re selling, who you’re competing with and how well your account is run. But that doesn’t mean you have to guess.
This guide explains how the price is set, gives indicative cost-per-click ranges we see in UAE accounts, and shows how to work out a sensible budget.
How Google Ads pricing works
You don’t pay for your ad to be shown. You pay when someone clicks (for search campaigns), and the price of each click is set by an auction that runs every time someone searches.
Your position and price in that auction depend on:
- Your bid: the most you’re willing to pay for a click.
- Quality Score: how relevant your ad and landing page are to the search, and how likely people are to click.
- Competition: how many other advertisers want the same search, and how much they bid.
- Context: the device, location, time of day and the searcher’s intent.
A better Quality Score means you can rank higher and pay less per click than a competitor with a bigger bid. That’s why account quality matters as much as budget.
Typical cost per click in the UAE
These ranges are indicative only, based on search campaigns we see across the UAE. Your own costs can be higher or lower, so always check your keywords in Google Keyword Planner before you commit.
| Sector | Indicative cost per click |
|---|---|
| Local services (cleaning, repairs, salons) | AED 2 to 8 |
| Restaurants, retail, e-commerce | AED 1 to 5 |
| B2B services, IT, software | AED 6 to 25 |
| Education and training | AED 5 to 20 |
| Healthcare, clinics, dental | AED 8 to 30 |
| Legal, finance, insurance | AED 15 to 50+ |
| Real estate and property investment | AED 10 to 40+ |
Arabic keywords in the same sector are often cheaper because fewer advertisers target them.
How to set your budget
Start from the leads you need, not the money you want to spend.
- Decide your target cost per lead. If an average customer is worth AED 5,000 in profit and you close one in five leads, you can afford up to AED 1,000 per lead and still break even. Most businesses aim well below that.
- Estimate your conversion rate. A well-built landing page for a local service often converts 5 to 15 percent of clicks into enquiries. A generic homepage converts far less.
- Work it backwards. With an average click cost of AED 10 and a 10 percent conversion rate, each lead costs about AED 100. Twenty leads a month needs roughly AED 2,000 in clicks.
- Add room to test. The first four to eight weeks are for learning which keywords, ads and audiences work. Plan for higher costs during that period.
If the budget that comes out of this calculation isn’t realistic, narrow the targeting rather than spreading a small budget thin. One service in one area with enough budget beats five services with too little.
Seasonality in the UAE
Auction prices in the UAE move through the year:
- October to March is the high season for tourism, events, real estate and many B2B purchases. Competition and click prices rise.
- Ramadan changes behaviour. Search activity often shifts later into the evening and night, some sectors slow down and others, like retail, food and gifting, peak. Adjust ad schedules and messages.
- Summer is quieter for many local businesses as residents travel, which can mean cheaper clicks for those who keep advertising.
- The working week is Monday to Friday, with many businesses open on Saturdays. Check your own data before you copy ad schedules from other markets.
What agencies charge
If you work with a Google Ads agency in Dubai, you’ll typically see:
- Setup fee: account structure, keyword research, ad copy, conversion tracking and sometimes landing pages.
- Monthly management fee: fixed, or a percentage of ad spend (often 10 to 20 percent for larger budgets), usually with a minimum.
- Ad spend: paid directly to Google from your own card or invoice account.
Always make sure the Google Ads account is in your business’s name, with the agency given access. If you part ways, you keep the history and data.
How to lower your cost per lead
The biggest savings rarely come from bidding tricks. They come from fundamentals:
- Track conversions properly. Calls, forms and WhatsApp clicks must be tracked, or smart bidding optimises for the wrong thing.
- Use tight keyword themes. Group closely related keywords into ad groups with matching ads and landing pages.
- Add negative keywords weekly. Search terms like “jobs”, “free”, “course” or “salary” waste budget for most service businesses.
- Send traffic to focused landing pages. One service, one message, a short form and a WhatsApp button. Our conversion rate optimization work regularly cuts cost per lead more than any bid change.
- Target the right areas. Exclude locations you can’t serve, and raise bids where your best customers are.
- Use all relevant assets: sitelinks, callouts, call and location assets increase click-through rate and Quality Score.
Is Google Ads worth it?
For businesses with clear demand, where customers search for what you sell, Google Ads is one of the fastest ways to generate leads in the UAE. It works best alongside SEO, which lowers your long-term cost per lead while ads bring results from week one.
